2250 D-Ring Bit
Sizes: 5", 5 ¼", 5 1/2, 5 ¾", 6"; Ring-Ø 85x65mm; Thickness 14mm
With Sweet Copper Link
Benefits of Sweet Copper Mouth:
- Better acceptance because it encourages the horse to chew, thus enhances the saliva production
- The delicate sweet taste of the middle piece (SWEET COPPER LINK) encourages horses to salivate because their taste buds are situated in the centre of the tongue
- Massive copper composition (90% Copper, 7% Iron + Aluminum, No Nickel) with very high strength (stronger than Argentan)
- Horses feel good with Sweet Copper
Benefits of a D-Ring bit:
- The straight bars on the Ds provide a better lateral guiding effect and help prevent the bit from pulling through the mouth, as sometimes experienced with Loose Ring Snaffles
- The ends of the mouthpiece merges into a hinge, to which the rings attach. This shape stops the corner of the mouth from being pinched between the mouthpiece and the ring
- Due to the D-shaped rings the bit cannot rotate and is more fixed with a small leverage effect
- The D-Ring bit and the Egg-Butt bit are very similar in their function and effectiveness.
- D-Ring bits were developed mainly to prevent the lips and sides of the mouth from being pinched. Important is however that the link between the D-shaped rings and the mouthpiece are well manufactured, otherwise horses can pinch their lips easily and get a sore mouth.
- Badly manufactured bits often show a crack or small fissures between the D-Ring and the mouthpiece after a short time, injuring the horses’ lips
