Adjusting the bit
- You calculate the right bit size by measuring the width of the horse’s mouth (at the position of the bit) plus 1 cm.
- The thickness depends on the anatomy of the horse’s mouth. Check if your horse can close its mouth completely with the bit in.
- The wrong size or thickness can cause pain in the horse’s mouth.
- Tip: Oversized 2x broken Bit are normally no problem. Oversized 1x broken Bit increased extremely the nut cracker effect.
